Sierra Childers – HH & TOC Athlete of the Week

Sierra Childers – New Hope High School

October 1, 2013 – The first Athlete of the Week for the Month of October comes to us from southern Madison County.  For now, the New Hope community is energized with a new high school stadium and a football team on a mission.  But, while all the attention is outside on the field, the courts are warming up inside as Sierra Childers and the Lady Indians get ready for another season.  Sierra is year-round athlete.  She has made her time on the varsity basketball team a routine in success.  Sierra has played all four years on the varsity squad for the Lady Indians.  She’s had the same run of success on the varsity volleyball team, where she’s been a starter for four years.  She’s even taken a “swing” with the softball team, making both the junior varsity and varsity teams.  In the classroom, it’s the same run of success.  Sierra carries a 3.9 GPA with a permanent spot upon the A and A/B Honor Roll.  Her success can be attributed to dedication.  She has carried a perfect run of attendance for two years.  She’s also perfect in Algebra II and Trigonometry and carries the highest average in those subjects.  Sierra also gives her time back to her community in so many ways.  From helping the Red Cross, to operating a can drive, Sierra wastes none of her time, when she loves to give so much of it to others.  Congratulations, Sirerra!
