The D1 Nashville Character Athlete for the month of August is Adult Boot Camp Athlete Kurt Westgard. The Character Word for August is Perseverance and Kurt personifies this quality through and through. A D1 member since January of 2013, Kurt attends the 5:00am class almost daily. He may not be the fastest or the strongest, but his PERSEVERANCE through each drill and positive attitude have helped him lose over 30 lbs. since joining D1. It doesn’t matter what he is doing, no matter how tough things get, Kurt always has a smile on his face. We are proud to name Kurt our August Character Athlete of the Month.”
