April 1, 2014 – This week we are pleased to name Tyler Mewbourn as the HH & TOC Athlete of the Week. Tyler has played both football and baseball during his high school career at West Limestone High School. In football, Tyler played safety and fullback. He also suffered a concussion his junior year, but overcame the injury and was able to play his senior season. Also this year, West Limestone added a bass fishing club and Tyler joined the team and placed 3rd in the school’s tournament. Along with incredible athletic ability, Tyler is ranked 2nd in his class and served as class Vice President. He plans to attend the University of Mobile majoring in Biology and Intercultural Studies with a partial scholarship. Tyler is also extremely involved within his church and community. He has participated in church planting and building projects World Changers and Habitat for Humanity. He also has served as a camp counselor at Camp Joy, a camp for under-priveleged kids, for the past two years. An incredibly well-rounded bio makes Tyler an outstanding choice for this week’s Athlete of the Week.
