March 13, 2013 – This month, we have two character athletes: Mary Petzen and Tara Rampersad. Both started at D1 Tampa a little over a year ago and have obtained tremendous results. Mary and Tara started training primarily for their health and for their families. Setting a great example for their children, these wonderful women demonstrate how determination defines the difference between the possible and impossible…. Their dedication and hard work have been noticed by not only the coaching staff but also their peers. These two fine ladies hold each other accountable and continuously push each other to new heights. Although they hurt and suffer like everyone else, they seldom complain or let it slow them down. Coach Mike refers to them as the “Silent Soldiers”. So on behalf of the D1 Tampa family, we would like to award D1’s Silent Soldiers this month’s Character Athlete of the Month! Congratulations Mary Petzen and Tara Rampersad!
