January 23, 2013 – Jacob is our D1 Columbus Character Athlete of the month for January 2013(RESPECT). I could use many, if not any of our D1 Character words to describe Jacob. He shows up on time, he works extremely hard and is very determined to become a better athlete. Jacob stands out from the group with his physical abilities (he has 5 D1 records!), but he also stands out with his behavior and conduct. Jacob is respectful to his coaches and to his D1 Developmental peers. He makes a point to help others understand what we are doing if they are new, and he’s the first one to pat someone on the back or “clap it up” to help motivate them through a tough workout. Jacob’s attitude will serve him very well in his athletic endeavors and his life outside of sports. Jacob is a great example for all of our D1 Columbus athletes and we’re very proud to have him in our D1 Columbus family.
