Dustin Haraway – HH & TOC Athlete of the Week

January 11, 2013 – Dustin Haraway is the second Athlete of the Week for the month of January. This young man has narrowed his focus, and rather than try to be a jack of all trades, he prefers to be a master of one. Dustin Haraway may have started out his high school career as a dual-athlete on the football and baseball teams, but he quickly learned that the grid-iron was calling his name. This Bob Jones High School senior has moved up the depth chart on the football team each year. He made the Patriots varsity squad as a sophomore and was named Special Teams Player of the Year his junior year. As a senior, Dustin is captain of Bob Jones varsity football. His commitment to his team is the same commitment he carries with him wherever he goes; particularly in the classroom. Dustin has been a permanent resident on the A-honor roll for 11 years. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is near the top of his class with a 4.1 GPA. Dustin served as a campaign volunteer for the Madison City Council Race in 2004 and 2008 and for the Madison County Commission Race this past election year. He is devoted to his church as a member and volunteer and has certainly given back to his community in the way of clean-up efforts. Dustin sets a positive example for younger student-athletes by encouraging them to be great future leaders. Congratulations, Dustin!
