Cara Estes – HH & TOC Athlete of The Week

February 22, 2013 –
Cara Estes

Cara Estes began her successful high school career in South Huntsville. She was a force to be reckoned with, as early as middle school, where she was an All-City basketball, volleyball and track athlete. Cara was even recognized as the most outstanding student-athlete in her middle school. Fast-forward a few years and we find Cara making a name for herself as a Grissom Lady Tiger. She tried her hand at softball and even a little soccer, but it was always basketball that she found the most success. She was a starting guard for the Lady Tigers basketball team as a sophomore and junior, and led the team in scoring her junior year. She made the move over to Sparkman High School her senior year, but didn’t lose a step. She made the Lady Senators varsity basketball team and has helped lead them to a #1 ranking in Girls 6A basketball. In the classroom, the success continues. Cara is on pace to graduate with an Advanced high school diploma. This comes as no surprise when you read her resume. She carries a 4.0 GPA and has a full schedule of advanced placement classes. She has passed numerous AP classes already, which has caught the eye of several universities. Of course, Cara doesn’t stop there. She knows you have to give back and that’s exactly what she has accomplished in her community. Cara is very active with her church’s youth program and continues to organize mission activities for underprivileged children in Huntsville. She’s participated in Relay For Life and has participated in “Powder Puff” football games to raise money for breast cancer research. Congratulations, Cara!
