Jacob Parker – HH & TOC Athlete of the Week

 

Jacob Parker – Westminster Christian Academy

September 10, 2013 – The third Athlete of the Week for the academic year and for the month of September comes to us from Westminster Christian Academy.  Jacob Parker is a two-sport athlete who excels in football and basketball.  He has been a member of the varsity basketball team since the seventh grade and has been the team’s leading scorer and rebounder for the last three seasons, or since Jacob entered high school.  He has also been named to the All-Area basketball team for the last three years and made the All-Letro squad last season.  Jacob is a fierce competitor on the gridiron, playing on both sides of the ball.  He’s been the starting quarterback and linebacker since his freshman year.  He’s recorded more than 100 tackles in a season, twice.  He was voted to the All-Region and All-Metro teams last season and has a Division-1 scholarship to play football for the Air Force Academy.  In the classroom, Jacob is in the Top 2 of his graduating class and holds a strong 4.2 GPA.  He’s a member of the National Honors Society, Westminster Honor Council and received the Gold Medal for the National Latin Exam.  Jacob scored a perfect 36 on the math portion of the ATC and had an overall score of 33.  In his community, Jacob gives back as a tutor for underprivileged youth and through his work with the Boys and Girls Club.  He’s his school’s FCA huddle leader and has taken mission trips to help people abroad in Mexico and the Ukraine.  Congratulations, Jacob!
